We could talk for hours about Carcassonne's worldwide fame.
When Klaus-Jurgen Wrede and Hans im Gluck published Carcassonne back in 2000, they would hardly have imagined that within a few years it would become a worldwide success and, also taking into account the various expansions that have followed over the years, would reach millions of copies sold.
Nothing, in fact, would have led one to suppose that drawing and assembling square tiles, placing down funny stylised “little men” to score points, would have been a sort of revolution in the world of board games.
Carcassonne is inspired by the French citadel of the same name, famous for its fortifications and recalling nineteenth-century civilization.

Strategic gameplay that is different from any other game
One-of-a-kind medieval setting!
One of the great classics of board games, a game that has made history and is still played many, many times. A worker and tile placement, simple, fast and easy to explain. A combination of well-oiled rules, which make every game a real fun.
Regulation in brief
In Carcassonne, each turn we should randomly take a territory tile and place it adjacent to one already present, respecting the adjacency conditions, that is, that the figures on the tile match the adjacent tiles; nothing simpler. But the strategy is precisely in the second phase of positioning, in fact, in addition to having to think about where to place our tile, we will have one of the 8 workers at our disposal, who can be placed in a type of land, city, road, field or convent. The worker, once positioned, will allow us to obtain victory points once that territory is completed, for example a completed city will give 2 victory points for each tile it is made up of, or the roads that instead will give only 1. A worker can be placed on a territory only if there are no others present, but, if the territories are connected over time, we will look at the majority to establish who will obtain the victory points.
Once all the tiles have been used up, the game ends, and the player with the most victory points is declared the winner.
Carcassonne is a game for 2-5 players; a simple title but one that also allows for a good dose of strategy and planning. The visual impact is really beautiful, when the tiles gradually build a real region, you will stop to look and admire your work.
